We are seeking a professional who will be responsible for organizing permanent medical records related to a medical office, working alongside the case management team, and engaging in constant communication with patients and clients, while always demonstrating a genuine passion for helping patients.
Job Description
Assists physicians in examination, Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), taking medical histories from patients and records information on patients'. Recording and organizing information in medical recordkeeping systems, reports, conduct medical cost research and charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Conduct administrative duties, including answering telephones, greeting patients, updating, scanning and filing patients’ medical records, filling out insurance forms, handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, arranging for hospital admission and laboratory services, coordinating and picking up medical records from hospitals and other facilities. Facilitate effective communication between the patient, clients, staff and other health care professionals. Able to talk to patients in person or over the phone for long lengths of time needed to collect pertinent medical information.
Qualifications
- High school diploma and medical certification
- 1-2 years of experience in medical field
- Experience and familiarity reviewing medical records, practices, and procedures
- Proactive and Strong time management, multi-tasking and resource management capabilities
- Strong communications skills (written and oral)
- Effective therapeutic communication skills in speaking to patients, clients, and law firms
- High attention and focus to detail
- Proficient in medical terminology and basic understanding of legal terms
- Knowledgeable in the development and editing documents and spreadsheets
- Skillful in Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Skype for Business, and Adobe PDF
- Experience with cloud services for online file management and uploading files
- Compelling interpersonal skills and strong, friendly guest services skills
- Rapid learner with the ability to grasp new concepts, processes, and protocols
- Must be comfortable teleworking and proactive to accomplish tasks and goals
- May be required to perform a variety of other tasks
- Reports to the Director, Senior Case Manager
- Supports other Case Managers and the Client Assist Team
- Must be willing to travel
