This is our direct client position for Senior WAN Engineer - REMOTE. This is a Permanent position… Salary between $120,000 to $150,000

The Senior WAN Engineer will consistently evaluate technologies to shape design of services in consideration of cost, portability, compatibility, or usability factors.

Primary Functions:

Provides technical design capabilities to multiple projects/across all modules involved
Leads Enterprise wide initiatives.
Engages senior leadership/provides ongoing input for enterprise decision making.
Provides insight regarding IT industry trends and drives improvements across the organization.
Fosters healthy relationships and builds trust with a wide variety of business stakeholders, IT management, project managers, developers, contractors, system users, and IT vendors.
Works effectively with ad-hoc, cross-functional teams, and drives technical solutions without detailed managerial direction.
Can rationalize and articulate customer / supplier interactions & conflicts across business boundaries.
Partners with business teams and senior business customers providing analysis and expertise to identify, document and drive business requirements to accomplish business and strategic objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

Associate degree from an accredited institution is required.
Minimum 7 years of IT experience is required.
Candidate must be authorized to work in the US on a continuous basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Cisco network centric LAN & WAN environments: Very experienced in designing, supporting and delivering complex Layer 3 connectivity concepts and solutions
Experience engineering, delivering, and supporting Cisco IOS and IOS-XE based routing platforms (ISR, ISRG2, ISR4K, ASR).
Strong knowledge of complex network routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF
Thorough comprehension of Layer 3 QoS concepts
Strong work history of designing and maintaining MPLS WAN environments
Experience in delivery and configuration of WAN solutions such as DMVPN, IPsec, IWAN
Experience Designing, deploying and maintaining SD-WAN solutions such as VeloCloud, Viptella, Silverpeak
Experience with WAN environments utilizing Zscaler technologies highly preferred
Experience interfacing with Cloud solutions such as Azure, AWS, O365
Experience with WAN acceleration technologies such as Riverbed
Experience working for or directly with telecommunications Service Providers highly preferred
Excellent proficiency with the English language (written and verbal).  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Cisco CCNP/CCIE highly preferred.  SD-WAN certifications with Tier-1 vendors such as Velocloud/Viptella highly preferred
