Job Description

This is a direct-client opening for a DevOps Engineer located in Los Angeles, CA. This is a 3+ month contract position. 

You will be part of a team that builds a vendor neutral infrastructure platform for multiple deployments of our AI platform across public clouds and also on-premise data centers.  We are looking for a Sr DevOps Engineer to help streamline our automated infrastructure deployment, help to improve run book execution time launching our Kubernetes clusters, and assist in the port of Terraform open-source infrastructure to MS Azure.

Responsibilities:


Build vendor neutral tools to deploy Kubernetes clusters & other tools atop this cluster.
Build a distributed VPN infrastructure to manage access to Kubernetes clusters, using OpenVPN.
Strive to achieve infrastructure as code to the fullest.  
Provide guidance and support for the dev team on best practices with deployment configuration and containerization.  
Support development team in transitioning over systems from AWS EC2 boxes and Heroku, to Kubernetes.  
Actively participate in planning meetings to plan deployment strategies when dev team plans application development.  
Design and perform load tests on systems, analyze system usage and make recommendations to the dev team.  
Participate in on-call rotation.  

Qualifications:
5+ years DevOps experience in mid-large scale deployments.
Experience using Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Vault.  
Experience with CI/CD systems. We use Jenkins, ArgoCD, Spinnaker.  
Experience deploying ELK stack and managing large volumes of logs.  
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
BA/BS degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent practical experience.  
 

Ideal Qualifications:  

Knowledge of helm charts.  
Development experience in Ruby, Python, Go.  
Experience working in a multiple deployments a day environment.
