This is a direct-client opening for a Systems Administrator in Newport, VT. This is a full-time position. 

The major responsibilities of this position include:

Provide overall support for the virtualized Windows server environment, to include update and version maintenance, as well as backups and license compliance.

Monitor and maintain the Bank’s virtual infrastructure (VMWare).

Administer and provide 1st-level support for the Bank’s data network- switches, routers, firewall & SAN.

Assist in planning and executing disaster recovery exercises.

Create and maintain documentation of the network and its components.

Deliver exceptional technical support to both end users and Technology staff.

In addition to having about 5 years of IT experience, the successful candidate will have these skills and abilities:

Must have

Experience managing and supporting a Windows server environment under the VMWare virtualization platform.

Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy design, administration and management.

The capability to provide 1st-level support and configuration management for Cisco routers and switches.

Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems; experience collaborating efficiently with 3rd-party vendors to ensure problem resolution as rapidly as possible.

Must work effectively both individually and as part of a team. Ability to multitask is required, as well are effective time-management skills.

A demonstrated history of learning new skills and capabilities.

Strong interpersonal skills; must effectively relate to non-technical and technical Bank staff.

Well-developed written and oral communication skills, coupled with the ability to work in a highly regulated environment.

Desired, but Not Required

Significant experience supporting and maintaining an IWAN infrastructure.

Exposure to, and ability to support Cisco Unified Communications telephony.

Previous banking experience, and exposure to Jack Henry applications.

College degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
