Job Description
About your new role | He korero whakamarama mo tenei turanga:
As a Better Days Rehab Coach, your day could include:
- Implement rehabilitation programmes and activities developed by supervising clinicians and allied health professionals.
- Provide direct one-on-one support to clients in home, community, workplace, school, or university settings.
- Assist clients with practising therapeutic exercises, routines, and functional activities.
- Encourage client participation, independence, and confidence throughout their rehabilitation journey.
- Monitor client progress and provide regular feedback to supervising clinicians.
- Identify and communicate any barriers, concerns, or changes that may impact rehabilitation outcomes.
- Build positive, trusting, and collaborative relationships with clients and their families/whānau.
- Support clients to achieve the goals outlined in their Training for Independence rehabilitation plan.
- Maintain accurate client documentation, progress notes, and reports as required.
- Attend supervision sessions, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary allied health team, including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Therapists, Psychologists, and other rehabilitation professionals.
- Maintain client documentation and records confidentially and accurately.
- Provide services that comply with Better Days’ policies and procedures and support the achievement of Better Days’ mission.
Qualifications
Must haves
- You are willing to travel and provide in-home care.
- You are confident and comfortable working with both children and adults.
- You are comfortable taking a hands-on approach when supporting clients throughout their rehabilitation journey.
- You understand the importance of working as part of a multidisciplinary team and are willing to work closely with clinicians and other team members.
- You embody Better Days’ values and are committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- You can provide evidence of your right to work in New Zealand.
- You have your own car and hold a valid, full, clean driver’s licence.
Ideally, you will also have
- Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities or injuries or experience supporting rehabilitation at home or in a hospital setting.
- A minimum NZQA Level 3 Health qualification, or an international equivalent.
- First Aid Certificate
