We are looking for a Lead for a Risk Analytics team with a strong analytical and hands-on attitude that is keen to have an impact on our risk analytics and related processes by data-oriented insights in terms of external end customer’s solvency / fraud indicators in a balanced risk decision environment. The focus of the team lies on helping our steering teams defining our risk strategy, its (further) development and the constant monitoring and steering according to it. In line with the company's overarching vision to become the most human-centric FinTech, the Risk Analytics team develops appropriate customer risk strategies for different markets and ecosystems. The organization is characterized by technology-based rapid learning and decision-making cycles and guided by a strong common purpose to jointly create value for all stakeholders. Strong footprint in DACH/NL & Nordics with further expansion ambition within Europe (example: France, Italy, Spain & UK). 

The main responsibilities of the Risk Analytics Lead are: 

  • Leading a high-performing team of risk analytics experts in an international setup 
  • Ensuring that the team uses industry-standard analytics tools and data-driven decision-making to solve complex fraud / solvency risk related problems and support product expansion 
  • Driving continuous improvement of underlying data analyses, existing business processes and monitoring/reporting, while establishing best practices for ad-hoc and deep-dive analyses 
  • Providing risk insights for pricing requests and ensuring effective collaboration with internal stakeholders on analytical requirements 
  • Playing a key role in cross-functional Risk Data Science initiatives and in enabling machine learning based models and advanced analytics for risk decisioning 
  • Representing the Risk Analytics team in key projects with project responsibility for risk steering related analytics and implementation 

You will lead the Risk Analytics team and work in close collaboration with other functions such as Risk Product, Risk Steering, Data Science, Pricing, Financial Controlling, Sales and Operations. 

The function is reporting into the Risk Analytics & Steering Lead, which is reporting into the global Client Underwriting Lead. The location is flexible, preferred locations are Luxembourg, Germany (Berlin, Verl, Baden-Baden) and the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Heerenveen). 

 

Qualifications

What you should bring: 

  • You have a proven track-record in data analytics and credit risk management, ideally within a Bank / BNPL industry / fast-growing payment industry. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading (cross-border) teams in a relevant area such as credit risk analytics, ideally in an international, agile, cross-functional environment 
  • You have experience in successfully enabling machine learning-based models and advanced analytics for risk assessment and decisioning 
  • Expertise in using various programming languages (SQL and Python) to perform complex analytical tasks 
  • You embrace new technology and understand the potential of data and advanced analytics 
  • You are a strategic thinker with vision and a strong operator - you get things done 
  • Language: English (mandatory); German or Dutch is a plus
