Job Description

Job summary:

- In the performance of his duties, the technician will be responsible for:

- Actively participates in site reliability and cost improvement programs:

- Studies of frequencies and failure modes,

- Research of preventive and predictive maintenance methods,

- Definition of maintenance plans,

- Define modifications of parts and equipment,

- research of the best available maintenance techniques

- Monitoring of preventive / predictive maintenance programs

- Search for the best economically viable solutions

- Restore factory operation as soon as possible in the event of a sudden breakdown.

Preparation and follow-up of work for production stoppages:

- Organization of the planning of part of the work

- Definition of the necessary resources

- Coordinate and plan with outside stakeholders/companies

- Order parts

- Follow the teams involved and verify the proper execution of the work (safety, quality, cost, etc.)

- Participate in mechanical work

Site resource person for mechanics:

- Provide technical advice and training of mechanics

- Search for materials and parts

- Collaborate with the general warehouse for coding spare parts in SAP and stock strategy

- Exchange best practices to enhance operational techniques between sister factories

- Lifting, mechanical, vibration analysis, locotractor…

Supplier tracking:

- Placing annual and one-off orders

- Expense account and budget control related to the mechanical maintenance of the factory

- Monitor a database of subcontractors according to the potential problems of the site.

- Work with subcontractors and suppliers of parts and equipment to find possible improvements to maintenance and capital projects:

- Leading small projects

- Participate in the development of projects

Routine mechanical work:

- Follow, apply and strictly maintain standards and procedures relating to safety, environment, quality.



Qualifications:

- Minimum level of education is a DEP in industrial mechanics (Professional Studies Diploma) or equivalent. Diploma in Industrial Mechanics or Mechanical Engineering would be preferred.

- 10 years experience in maintenance and industrial mechanic

- Management experience of major works and maintenance teams, as well as collaboration with suppliers and subcontractors.

- Prioritize health and safety at work.

- Team player and a positive, hands-on attitude

- Have a spirit of initiative.

- Able to communicate in English

- Have strong problem-solving skills and able to work independently.

- Ability to handle work-related stress

- Experience with plant shutdowns

- Ability to influence decisions to enhance processes

- Must be legally allowed to work in Canada without corporate or sponsorship support.



Working conditions:

-The work schedule is 37.33h / week

-The individual can be called back in the event of major problems outside of working hours

-The individual must be willing to work overtime at times

- Overtime is paid in double time
