Job Description

Seeking a well-rounded Warehouse/Shipping Manager to fulfill the position in our shipping/receiving department that resides near the Brooklyn area. Must demonstrate the ability to take make sure all orders and packed and documented to ensure on-time shipment. This position is primarily responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and administering inventory management protocols by performing the following duties personally or through coordination with operations management team. The position ensures the safety protocols of our facilities are upheld appropriately by carrying out routine inspections and audits to identify hazardous conditions and apply corrective actions.

 

Shipping and Receiving Area:

  • Generate Pick Lists each afternoon for new sales requirements 
  • Coordinate with Shipping/Receiving Team Lead upon arrival each morning with any specific documentation/material requirements that may affect daily schedule.
  • Attend Daily Operations Planning Meeting to coordinate daily activities
  • Call in Trucks in tandem with Logistics Manager
  • Throughout day coordinate and manage delivery of all shipment documentation
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Affix shipping labels on packages as required 
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Prepare Bill of Ladings with trucker labeling and oversee loading of trucks throughout afternoon
  • Coordinate with Evening Production Manager to handoff responsibility for any late pickups
  • Commit orders that ship
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

Inventory Management

  • Review sales order, work order, purchase order transactions to determine if items/lots were consumed appropriately.
  • Oversee sorting of materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to current requirements or general activity volume
  • Help to ensure in general that across facility materials are marked with identifying information.
  • Manage and schedule cycle counts as required
  • Make all necessary in ERP to maintain accurate inventory figures and cost values as required by management  
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.   
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time & stand on feet for up to 8 hours per day
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Order Processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Forklift licensing and/or certification
