Job Description

The Operations Manager will perform a variety of expediting duties in support of the company’s production processes to maintain the smooth flow of the manufacturing process. Communicating with various departments in an effort to alleviate schedule delays and or alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.Responsible for ensuring a timely flow of raw materials, internally from finished goods and or from external suppliers.             

Must be able to forecast schedules, production alerts, stock inventories , organize, run and oversee, all daily operations of the plant, from production and manufacturing, to ensuring policies and procedures are followed while achieving quality and cost targets.                Ensuring customer expectations are exceeded and implementing and utilizing methods designed to improve and maximize, productivity, along with other production foreman and skilled lead men to facilitate daily production needs as it relates to the overall production schedule.                                                                                                                            Plan and direct the efficient operations of shop production in order to produce high quality finished products while meeting constantly-shifting deadlines.                        

Troubleshoot problems and take action to resolve issues that affect quality and customer satisfaction.        

 Use scientific, mathematical, and engineering principles to solve problems and improve processes.         

Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.

Lead efforts to improve safety and productivity, applying lean manufacturing principles

Ensure that all production staff work safely and follow company safety guidelines

Identify any delays in production; ensuring necessary labor, materials and other resources are available for manufacturing process.

Work experience in a union environment a plus

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

College graduate with Studies in Materials Science, Metallurgy or Engineering background

3-5 years, experience in manufacturing industry

Supervisory experience

Computer literate

Knowledge of manufacturing requirements and planning

Communication and interpersonal skills

Analytical and problem-solving skills

Time management skills

Self- motivated, team player, and demonstrates ability to work independently.

Ability to learn professional practices, concept and procedures within the industry.

Responsible for cost conscious and productivity improvements in the manufacturing process
