Job Summary

Seeking a broad range Facility & Equipment Maintenance Technician to fulfill the position in a metal foundry setting. Able to take direction from Plant / Production Manager and troubleshoot various process equipment independently. Ideal candidate must be a self-driven and mechanically inclined individual with basic electrical troubleshooting skills. Performs various preventive maintenance tasks but also reacts to real time needs from equipment failure and production needs. Support general shop maintenance, including housekeeping and servicing daily plant amenities (lights, painting, water filters, and lab equipment). The position ensures the safety protocols of our facilities are upheld appropriately by carrying out routine inspections and audits to identify hazardous conditions and apply corrective actions.

Job Responsibilities

Perform regular preventative maintenance and repairs for our facility assets.

Responsible for maintenance and repair of facility and facility utilities.

Perform routine and emergency maintenance on closed loop cooling system for our metal foundry.

Complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently utilizing good work practice as part of a maintenance team or working independently with minimal supervision.

Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnosis on plant equipment, systems, and controls.

Correct and repair advanced mechanical, electrical and instrumentation faults on plant equipment.

Understand how to troubleshoot equipment faults/failures and identify root causes of plant utility issues.

Recommend a repair/recovery strategy to return plant to normal operating condition. 

Repair and maintain machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, manufacturers' specifications or supervisor’s instructions, using hand and power tools, precision measuring or testing devices.

Observe, calibrate, troubleshoot, and adjust a wide variety of control valves, transmitters, PLC's and various instrumentation and control devices to assure proper operation and repair.

Ability to use tools (manual & electrical) on tasks performed. Having intermediate welding and plumbing skills.

Assist in the scoping, planning and schedule of shutdowns and repairs.

Order supplies and replacement parts used in the plant as required and directed.

Respond to emergencies and determines corrective actions using available resources.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of mechanical and basic electrical maintenance experience
  • Proven general knowledge of, including but not limited to, painting, carpentry, drywall patching, plumbing and basics electrical repair
  • Basic understanding of mechanical equipment, furnaces, and cooling water systems.
  • Technical intuition to quickly problem solve issues on equipment and/or utilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time & stand on feet for up to 8 hours per day
  • Physically able to work outdoors for long periods of time, climb ladders and traverse roof spaces utilizing appropriate fall protection.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools
  • Strong organizational skills and time management while working independently
  • Able to handle customer-facing interactions with kitchens and other stakeholders, promoting a customer-focused environment

Additional Information

Salary - $85K - $115K / Year
