Job Description

TuneCore’s Artist and Partner Relations team works with our US artist community, DSP and industry partners, and internal teams to provide best-in-class digital distribution and editorial support.

Reporting to the Head of Artist and Partner Relations, the Senior Manager - Partner Specialist  will join our team and drive the company’s commitment to the financial growth of independent artists and labels through streaming technologies and strategies.

The Senior Manager - Partner Specialist is responsible for the coordination, management and execution of all streaming strategies, at scale, and pilot programs, and is the day-to-day contact for our DSP partners. The role is key to identifying and capitalizing on DSP opportunities that drive successful outcomes, foster artist development and create value for our artists, label clients, and the company alike.

The ideal candidate will manage strong relationships with our DSP partners, key artists, and label clients, and maximize the performance of artists' content across platforms. The Senior Manager - Partner Specialist will coordinate listening parties and pilot programs, and track and analyze performance, and report findings and recommendations.

The Senior Manager - Partner Specialist will leverage strategic insights and data and have a strong understanding of the digital music landscape, an aptitude for analytics, and enthusiasm for digital trends and technology, while supporting the goals of the Artist and Partner Relations team and TuneCore at large. Central to our mission, this role supports artist development and our label clients.

Independent music industry landscapes are constantly evolving. The successful Senior Manager - Partner Specialist will demonstrate accountability and ownership through proactive communication, commitment to results, and a problem-solving mentality to ensure mutual success and client satisfaction.

The tasks and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
 

Operational:

  • Work directly with labels, artists and managers to collect information, in order to organize for efforts (eg. newsletters, pitch decks, etc) across streaming and mobile platforms (Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Deezer,etc)

  • Work with editorial heads of digital retailers to ensure they are aware of priority releases, optimizing promotional information that is available and ensuring strong release coverage for TuneCore artists

  • Pitch upcoming releases for artists across DSPs (streaming, mobile)

  • Maximize TuneCore artist exposure and revenue across digital platforms through high-quality weekly pitches, listening sessions & meetings

  • Work closely with local DSPs - gauge genre movement, top release movement, introduction of new genres

  • Work closely with international Heads of TuneCore to monitor the same in international markets

  • Processing and reporting of playlists each week

  • Monitoring and summary of schedules for outings, concerts, artist events

Strategy:

  • Work directly with TuneCore Head of APR, CRO, and relevant Believe teams to prioritize and align DSP initiatives

  • Work with the Believe Digital Marketing Team on the analysis of marketing campaigns on Spotify and other DSPs

  • Build credible relationships with senior leaders at DSPs; maintain network within music industry to keep up with best practices, 

  • Understand distribution business entirety and participate in determining team OKRs for APR

  • Educate internal teams on artist & label needs

  • Educate TuneCore artists on best streaming practices, US streaming market and International streaming market

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in the music industry 
  • Deep knowledge of the current and global music market, digital landscape, and trends

  • Passion for independent music 

  • Existing network of industry contacts (including key DSP partners) 

  • Ability to think outside the box and a deep desire to test new tactics, campaigns and strategies 

  • Proven experience in artist development, with a track record of developing and executing successful release strategies

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders

  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven mindset and the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies

  • Creative problem-solver with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement

  • Proficiency in analytics tools, project management software, and Microsoft Office suite

Where you'll be

This role will be based out of our Brooklyn office. TuneCore operates on an in-office and remote hybrid model giving our teams flexibility and choice of how they work.
