Job Description

The 'Back End Engineer' is responsible for contributing to the design, maintenance and implementation of back end components of the Sentric Music and Believe Publishing application estate. The role involves working closely with the broader Product Engineering team and other stakeholders to ensure the overall functionality, quality, and performance of the applications.

Product Delivery:

  • Designing, developing and modifying applications using C#, ASP.NET and relevant technologies.
  • Creating and maintaining RDBMS and NoSQL databases and database schemas using SQL, JavaScript and other languages as appropriate.
  • Developing APIs and integrating with third-party APIs.

Collaboration:

  • Working closely with the Product team, Engineering team, and business stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of changes that meet acceptance and quality criteria.
  • Working with the Engineering team to ensure seamless integration of server-side and client-side components.
  • Participating in team development methodologies and ceremonies including backlog refinement, story elaboration, and daily stand-ups.

Engineering Practices:

  • Configuring and deploying application infrastructure to cloud environments using automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Taking part in code reviews, ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Creating and maintaining automated tests and technical documentation.
  • Supporting efforts towards optimising application performance by analysing and improving database queries and server-side logic.
  • Supporting and contributing to incident response activities.
