Job Description

The Manager of Email Marketing Operations is responsible for the planning and execution of email campaigns across the Bed Bath & Beyond family of brands.  The position will cover the full scope of email communications including product and promotional email, triggered transactional and CRM programs, and testing initiatives.

    Ensure complete communication and full understanding of the email program and customer needs across internal teams.  Support the development and execution of email marketing calendar.  Utilize prior performance and analytics to drive fact-based decisions on email planning.  Drive innovation and change through business knowledge, creative ideas and strong relationships.
    Coordinate with cross-functional teams across the organization including merchandising, store operations, and CRM, to collect relevant and accurate information for the execution of email campaigns.  Evaluate submission documents to ensure information and messaging are conveyed clearly, completely and aligns with overall marketing objectives.  Influence product and offer selection, messaging strategy, and targeting based on prior campaign performance.
    Manage email production process, by receiving and trafficking requests, assigning production resources, organizing production assets, and providing real-time direction to digital and production vendors.  Track production milestones to ensure timely delivery of campaign assets.
    Facilitate production meetings to plan and prioritize requests and adjust course as necessary.  Proactively address and resolve issues, campaign timing conflicts and communicate decisions to key stakeholders.
    Circulate draft and final proofs of campaigns to key stakeholders, consolidate feedback, resolve conflicts, and partner with production resources to ensure feedback is addressed.  Provide direction and feedback to creative, production and other external partners.
    Analyze campaign results including open and click rates, sales results, coupon or promo code results; make recommendations to optimize campaign performance.
    Support the testing and development of new email capabilities including segmentation, personalization, recommendations, and creative improvements.  Recommend tests to optimize email results.
    Understand email system configuration, vendor contributions, and complete data flow.   Develop testing recommendations based on system capabilities and provide recommendations to improve vendor/platform performance.
    Effectively manage direct reports to ensure optimal performance and results.  Build a positive, proactive environment based on mutual respect, a high level of execution and excellent communication with team members and external resources.  Effectively manage internal and external resources to identify and bring in all the appropriate expertise necessary to execute projects.


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with Marketing focus, M.B.A. preferred
Minimum of five to seven years email marketing experience within a retail or like setting
Must have email production experience with an enterprise-level Email Service Provider
Strong understanding of email and mobile best practices, including tools, technology, and KPIs.       Comfortable with new technologies and concepts
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence and persuade others with diplomacy and tact.
Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a busy, fast-paced environment.  Ability to respond with agility to changing market conditions and expedite processes when required
