Job Description
The Optibuild Custom Reagent Technician II is responsible for performing basic and intermediate bottling, labeling and packaging processes according to established procedures and work instructions. They will work within a team that manages their material inventories, daily production activities and quality documentation related to the production of finished products. This includes the ability plan and generate production orders from customer sales orders within the SAP environment. They must be able to read, understand and complete all packaging documentation including batch records and material requests following standard operating procedures and/or work instructions. They must possess intermediate computer and analytical skills. The Custom Reagent Technician II must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, highly diverse, team-oriented work environment that requires effective communication and planning.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Learn and understand:
Intermediate bottling techniques.
Intermediate Custom Order processing.
Material inventory management and accountability.
Working within the SAP production system.
Learning basic Automation Production Methods.
Competency in using the following equipment:
Manual and electronic single channel pipettes.
Electronic scales.
Zebra label printer.
Semi-automatic bagger.
Tecan EVO 200/100 Automation Platforms.
Daily essential functions include, but limited to:
Meet daily/weekly/monthly departmental production objectives efficiently and effectively with a high degree of quality.
Must have ability to independently organize individual schedule to meet departmental goals.
Must have the ability to work with no instruction on routine tasks and general instructions on new tasks.
Support departmental packaging supplies and material management function including storing, retrieving, and staging supplies/materials as required.
Support and participate in daily shift start up meetings Support Continuous Improvement and Process Improvement projects.
Ability to lift 20-30 pounds unassisted.
Understand and input production data, as required, in the SAP system and/or other Production Planning/Manufacturing Resource database system(s).
Follow all department guidelines and procedures. Follows BD Biosciences Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures.
Takes responsibility for safety in immediate work area. Participates in EH&S programs.
Notifies supervisors of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices. May provide recommendations on maintaining the safety of the work environment.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
Intermediate computer skills.
2-4 years relevant experience required.
Pharmaceutical or Biotech manufacturing, bottling and/or packaging experience required.
An understanding and experience with SAP is preferred.
Experience with continuous improvement tools (i.e. Lean / Six Sigma).Proficiency in Microsoft Work, Excel.
