Job Description

Do you have extensive knowledge of Fire Safety Legislation and Regulations? Have you worked to develop and implement effective fire safety policies and procedures? Are you interested in working in a diverse and multi-cultural environment? 

This could be the role for you!

As Fire Safety Expert, you will assume a pivotal role in the development, implementation of comprehensive fire safety programs and policies. Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Defining the global processes, procedures and guidelines
  • Ensuring global procedures are understood, digested and implemented at all Beckers sites.
  • Organizing audits at the sites on fire protection and conducting risk analyses
  • Challenging sites on action plan implementation
  • Enforcing fire prevention regulations and legislation
  • Organising fire education and training for staff
  • Coaching sites on improving fire prevention measures

To be successful on the job, you will have to demonstrates some key competences:

  • Create successful relationship with local EHS managers and site managers to implement effective fire safety measures and improvements with focus on fire prevention (esp. Focussing on electrostatic electricity).
  • Collect and share best practices from inside (e.g. collected by audits) and outside
  • Expertise on
    • Fire Extinguishing Systems: Experience in implementing automatic and manual fire suppression solutions.
    • Fire & Gas Detection Systems: Expertise in modern detection systems for early identification of risks.
    • Remote Fire Detection/Prediction: Knowledge of predictive safety technology and remote monitoring tools.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of safety certifications and designing products for regulatory approval.
  • Emergency Process Definition: Experience in defining, testing, and improving emergency response protocols in industrial settings.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in safety engineering in the energy, industrial, chemical, or battery storage sectors.
  • Experience and proven knowledge on Electrostatic electricity
  • Proven track record in fire suppression systems, gas detection, and explosion-proof technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements. in energy field.
  • Ability to document and communicate safety processes clearly to teams and external stakeholders.
