Office Manager and Team Assistant (m/f/x)
- Kollwitzstraße 64, 10435 Berlin, Germany
Beam’s mission is to become the world’s most successful logistics company builder.
At € 1,000+ B, the logistics industry is huge: Startups are only beginning to scratch the surface of the transformation made possible by applying software to business problems. Beam will launch three logistics-focused startups per year, with a clearly defined path to profit. We are located in Berlin and value the agility and autonomy of our small team! We are backed by BEUMER Group, a € 1 B revenue, German, family-owned logistics company with a global footprint and access to a very large network of industrial customers.
At its core the Beam team will remain small, but very high calibre in 2019.
Expect a total of four team members plus several highly skilled freelancers. Our greatest business asset are people and we pay a lot of attention to whom we choose to work with! Members of our team are close to all decisions taken, hence we expect independent critical thinking from all members. You could see it as an opportunity to learn and grow, professionally and personally. The results of your work will affect everyone working at Beam and its startups.
Each role at Beam plays a vital part in our success. We are looking for a energetic team member, to help manage our Beam headquarters in Berlin and assist our team members with various assignments. You expect the following tasks in your day to day work:
Taking care of office administration: e.g. processing of general correspondence, preparation of professional briefings, purchasing (including hardware), document management and staff catering.
Organizing appointments, meetings and business trips (incl. the preparation, logistics and follow-ups).
Editing, proofreading and organizing content and researching authors for the Beam log and social media channels.
Greeting and welcoming guests and external service providers at arrival, accepting parcel deliveries and post on behalf of the team.
Supporting in planning and preparation of offline events (meetups, team offsites and get-togethers).
People are our biggest asset, and it is important that you can present a soft skill set that is complementary to the role and to Beam! You will succeed in this role at Beam if you can see yourself in these statements:
I have an eye for detail, I love to organize and coordinate almost in an effortless manner.
I have an open and friendly demeanour, I am a people’s person and mix well with almost any kind of a crowd.
I have a solutions-driven mindset and discreet organizational talents; I prefer working with online tools.
I am proficient in English and German (written and verbal), and have very strong communication skills.
I am an extroverted person, an optimist, and deliver best results when working in a team.
If you have office management and team assistance experience and are up-to-date with advancements in tools and applications, that would be an added bonus! We expect you to be a digital native and have a preference for simple online solutions (#automation)!
Working at Beam means being a maker, being a someone who goes the extra mile to ensure the success of our (still small, but ambitious) company builder! Your work will be competitively compensated, have a structured working schedule and work together with a highly focused team of professionals. The technical setup for your work is up to you.
You can expect 3 stages to the application process:
Solving a few online assignments and submitting the results in writing
A short phone interview to discuss your goals and ambitions
A face to face interview at our office
Your application documents will be saved in our systems and will not be used for any other means.
