Job Description

Accounting/Office Assistant, Part-Time

As an Accounting Assistant, you would be a contributor to the growth and innovation of Bausch + Stroebel! If you are looking for a part-time, flexible role and you enjoy working with people this could be the role for you!

POSITION OVERVIEW: This position is primarily responsible for processing invoices and payments; managing multi-state sales and use tax filing and reporting; compiling and maintaining financial records. Work is performed by applying knowledge of accounting terminology and using spreadsheets and/or automated accounting systems. This position will also include ad hoc administrative, HR, and safety projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Core duties and responsibilities include the following:

•Accounts receivable

•Accounts payable

•Expense reports

•Cash receipts

•Check run

•Bank reconciliation

•Property taxes

•Multi-state sales tax management

•Fixed asset management

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a part-time, non-exempt position, 30 to 35 hours per work (with the potential to grow to a full-time role). The schedule will be Monday through Friday, during our normal business hours between 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The accounting staff has a rotating schedule of working in the office one to two days a week and working from home for the rest of the week for the duration of the pandemic. 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in accounting from four-year college or university and/or 2-5 years of experience in a similar role.

COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Concur, and preferably Microsoft Great Plains or related accounting software.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Additional Information

BUSINESS HOURS: M-F, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

BENEFITS: 401k retirement plan with a 4% company match, company paid holidays, and generous pro-rated paid time off plan.
