  Responsibilities
  The Computed Tomography and X-Ray (CT/X-Ray) Technologist will work Regular Full-Time, Evenings, 4pm -12pm and will be responsible for providing high quality test results in a prompt and accurate fashion. 

• The CT/X-Ray Technologist maintains an excellent quality of x-ray radiographs. 
• The CT/X-Ray Technologist develops the CR films including the evaluation of films for technical quality. 
• The CT/X-Ray Technologist performs radiographic examinations as requested and in accordance to established protocols. 
• The CT/X-Ray Technologist transports patients to and from the room when required as designated by the Manager. 
• Operates the CT scanners producing the highest quality examinations for fast and accurate interpretation. 
• The CT/X-Ray Technologist provides fluoroscopic assistance to the Radiologists, setting up sterile trays, preparing and dispensing barium or other chemical mixtures as necessary, and assists in the positioning of patients during luoroscopic examination. 
• The CT/X-Ray Technologist explains scans and procedures to the patients. 
• The CT/X-Ray Technologist properly performs all studies and records all data into the appropriate logbooks in CT. 
• The CT/X-Ray Technologist provides coverage for the OR, ER and portables in addition to the fluoroscopy procedures. 
• The CT/X-Ray Technologist prepares, identifies and/or administers medication as prescribed by a licensed practioner. 
• The CT/X-Ray Technologist maintains adequate inventory of supplies within Diagnostic as well as both CT scanners. 
• The CT/X-Ray Technologist cleans and organizes x-ray rooms and CT rooms after patient use. 
• Participates in quality assurance of all equipment according to department protocols. 
• The CT/X-Ray Technologist checks instrument calibrations daily; performing quality control procedures daily on equipment. 
• Conducts ongoing equipment maintenance and room checks. 
• Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. 
• Maintains competence through continuing education. 
• Communicates with the Manager on all patient care issues or concerns. 
• Performs other duties as requested and observed by supervisor or manager. 

Qualifications

Bassett Healthcare Network follows the New York State and New York State Department of Health COVID-19 vaccine mandates for healthcare workers. Education/Qualifications:  

• Associate's degree/certification from a Radiology Technologist program 

Experience: 

• Clinical experience within Radiology CT experience required  
• Radiology experience required  
• Prefer hospital-based experience   

Skills

• Basic computer knowledge  

• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
