Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to help lead the growth of our mechanical engineering and facilities discipline in Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic states. This is a full-time position in our Lanham, Maryland office.

Duties primarily include providing mechanical engineering services related to alternative energy, energy conservation, combined heat and power, industrial infrastructure and processes, HVAC, control systems, plumbing, and fire protection. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Business development.

- Project management, preparation/review of plans and specifications, and client communications for mechanical engineering assignments and projects.

- Working with other project team members including architects and structural, electrical and civil engineers to allow for effective, integrated, and well-coordinated project design solutions.

- Project coordination with technical quality control and oversight with regard to most if not all of the types of mechanical engineering services and capabilities listed below:

  • Preparation of design plans, calculations, details and public bidding documents.

  • Energy analysis and efficiency improvements.

  • Engineering economics

  • Fluid dynamics.

  • Thermodynamics and heat transfer.

  • Mechanical power systems.

  • Utility and process systems and controls.

  • Constructability reviews.

  • Construction administration and inspection.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum of 10 years of consulting experience in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Maryland is required. A seller-doer with experience with clients in Maryland and other mid-Atlantic states is preferred.
