Job Description

B&L is currently accepting applications for an entry-level Industrial Hygiene Technician in our Syracuse office.

This position requires the willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather and the availability to be assigned to potential extended field assignments. This position also requires frequent carrying, lifting, and transfer of equipment/material.

Duties include:

  • Conduct asbestos/lead-based paint inspections, surveys, abatement monitoring, environmental
    sampling, IH sampling, and indoor air quality services

  • Sample soil, water, air, and waste materials

  • Perform data analysis and reporting based on review of technical data

  • Conduct environmental site evaluations and assist in preparation of follow-up reports

Qualifications

Applicants should have an A.S. or a B.S. in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or other related field, or a combination of applicable coursework and experience. NYS asbestos certifications (AST/PM/INS), EPA lead inspector certification and OSHA HAZWOPER are a plus. Experience with AutoCAD is preferred. Candidates must have solid computer and writing skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to interface with a variety of clients.
