Job Description

We are currently seeking a qualified Senior Mechanical Lead Engineer with 18+ years of experience to join our Energy team, based out of the Calgary location. The Senior Mechanical Lead Engineer will be responsible for leading mechanical engineering projects and have the opportunity to work on a variety of energy related projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead Mechanical Discipline teams on major projects
  • Coordinate Mechanical discipline activities on project and represent discipline in project meetings with Clients, Suppliers and other disciplines.
  • Prepare mechanical engineering deliverables datasheets, specifications, material requisitions.
  • Familiar with all engineering department procedures and their application to projects.
  • Knowledge of design standards and guides applicable to the discipline for the respective clients; and
  • Participate in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • A recognized mechanical or materials engineering degree from an accredited university and registration as a Professional Engineer in Alberta
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant EPC Mechanical Engineering experience in the Energy sector, 8 years in a leadership role – Lead Engineer or Project Engineer
  • Experience with a variety of Mechanical Equipment types and defining scope limits for efficient execution.
  • Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards such as ASME, TEMA, ASTM, API, etc.;
  • Willing and able to occasionally travel to operating plants or manufacturer’s shops for field reviews, acceptance testing, etc.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
