Job Description
We are currently seeking a qualified HSE Field Lead to join our Energy team, based at site in Burnaby, BC. The HSE Field Lead will be responsible for leading field implementation, coordination, and maintenance of the health, safety, and environmental management system (HSEMS) and have the opportunity to work on a new build hydrogen facility project.
Join us in this full time temporary (4-5 months) role and be a champion of diversity and inclusion.
Expected wage: $80/hr-$90/hr based on relevant experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coach and mentor employees and subcontractors to support compliance with the HSE Management Systems implemented for the project.
- Lead HSE stakeholders; including client engagement, subcontractors, and staff.
- Research the most recent legislative and regulatory requirements and revise of the corporate HSE standards based on these requirements.
- Complete and distribute weekly, monthly, and annual HSE reports for corporate offices and projects.
- Develop and publish a monthly HSE bulletin to be posted on Bantrel portal.
- Schedule, attend and record minutes for bi-weekly HSE meetings and quarterly joint health and safety committee meetings.
- Maintain statistical database for leading and lagging indicators.
- Participate in office inspections.
- Participate in HSE audits (project audits, COR audits).
- Assist with HSE training development and roll out.
- Complete updates to the HSE portal.
- Support the emergency response team (ERT).
- Support the development and maintenance of Bantrel HSE Apps.
- Assist with WCB claims management as needed.
- Maintain HSE filing system.
- Support with booking drug and alcohol testing and medicals.
- Additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- 5+ years HSE Lead Field experience.
- Knowledge in occupational health and safety and environmental legislation in British Columbia.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the project within a team environment.
- Certification in either OH&S or NCSO.
- Proficient in Microsoft office applications and Sharepoint.
- Knowledge of PowerApps for the inspections, forms, and training.
