Job Description

We are currently seeking a qualified Smart Reference Data Administrator, this position has the option to be 100% remote within Canada with periodic visits to Saskatoon or Mississauga or if preferred be based out of our Toronto, Calgary or Edmonton offices. The Smart Reference Data Administrator will be responsible for managing reference data-related requests from the design team of each discipline. This primarily involves developing and maintaining Piping Line Classes for Intergraph Smart® 3D using Intergraph Smart® Reference Data, as well as developing and maintaining Smart® 3D catalog reference data for all other disciplines using the Component Management System (CMS) module in Intergraph Smart® Reference Data. as well as developing and maintaining Smart® 3D catalog reference data for all other disciplines using the Component Management System (CMS) module in Intergraph Smart® Reference Data. Additionally, the SPRD Administrator is tasked with maintaining the overall setup and configuration of this software and providing necessary support wherever SPRD interfaces with other tools. The SPRD Administrator will also be responsible for training a backup/standby resource who can provide SPRD support in their absence.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain Piping Line Classes for Intergraph Smart® 3D using Intergraph Smart® Reference Data.
  • Develop and maintain Smart® 3D catalog reference data for all disciplines including Mechanical, Structural and Electrical using Component Management System (CMS) module in Intergraph Smart® Reference Data.
  • Bulk load and test reference data changes to Smart3D catalog and resolve issues with reference data changes.
  • Create reports from SPRD. 
  • Investigate and, when necessary, communicate design tool issues to senior Administrators for resolution.  
  • Understand and assist with troubleshooting SQL queries and database concerns. 
  • Understand and assist the design team with understanding workflows and application customizations. 
  • Understand and identify potential areas where policies and procedures require change or where new ones need to be developed. 
  • Identify opportunities to reduce overall costs and improve end user performance. 
  • Prepare and deliver training for backup/standby resources so they are proficient with SPRD.
  • Identify potential service level problems and facilitate solutions. 
  • Schedule/prioritize work to accommodate project design team needs with minimum impact. 
  • Seek opportunities to enhance and improve the overall end-user experience. 
  • Document configuration changes/processes and create instructions for users.
  • Understand client standards, guidelines and procedures related to engineering design systems and data tagging requirements.
  • Update client standards as required.

Qualifications

  • A recognized degree or diploma from an accredited university/college/technical institute in an engineering/scientific discipline
  • A diploma or certificate in information technology, information management, and specialized training courses in 2D/3D CAD and other engineering applications an asset
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in SPRD application support, integration, and development
