Job Description
BwB is working on an innovative Africa-focused Hub, which has the purpose to mobilise public and private capital at scale for SDG focused projects. The Hub is expected to be launched in six pilot African countries and then subsequently expanded across the continent.
BwB is seeking a senior, Director-level candidate to lead the Hub. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in financial services and transaction execution, with strong stakeholder engagement skills, coupled with a deep commitment to, and knowledge of, sustainable development across Africa.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and nurture high-level relationships with key stakeholders in the public and private sector across multiple countries in Africa.
- Lead the direct day-to-day operations of the investment Hub, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and optimal resource utilisation.
- Lead a diverse team, setting clear goals and promoting a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Represent the Hub at key forums, conferences, and media engagements to articulate the Hub's vision and impact as well as to build the profile of the Hub.
- Evaluate performance against key performance indicators and strategic goals.
- Report on progress and challenges, providing insights and strategies to the Advisory Board and other key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years of leadership experience within financial services and transaction execution, or a related field, with a proven track record in managing large-scale initiatives.
- Demonstrate expertise in sustainable finance.
- Extensive knowledge of economic and regulatory landscapes across Africa.
- Experience coordinating effectively across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

- Exceptional leadership skills, with an ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Deep understanding of finance, investment strategies, and team management.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with stakeholders at all levels and across a variety of industries, the public and private sector, as well as the donor community.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence and drive outcomes.
- Highly adaptable, capable of navigating complex and evolving scenarios.
- Proactive and innovative problem-solving approach to tackle challenges.
Additional Information
The preference is for the successful candidate to be based in Kenya, however candidates located in the following countries will equally be considered for the role: Nigeria, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone
