Job Description
This full-time position reports to the Director of Enterprise Technology and has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from home. It is required for teleworkers to reside in the metropolitan Mexico City area, as we will require attendance for occasional in-person events. To ensure sufficient overlap with functional and cross-functional team members globally, some flexibility with this role's regular work schedule will be required. Most of our teams have overlap with early morning and/or early evening PST. Specific scheduling needs for this role will be discussed in the initial interview.
What you’ll do:
- Take technical ownership of Next Gen platform of IBM Sterling Order Management, Call Center, Order Hub, and Inventory Visibility applications
- Collaborate with product management team and technology peers to support current and future business requirements
- Contributes towards design by creating technical specifications documents
- Perform hands-on development, build unit test cases; resolve bugs found during QA testing and UAT
- Work on performance tuning, code reviews and test strategies
- Production support of IBM Sterling applications
- Implement standards and best practices for software development
- Promote API based integrations strategy and microservices based architecture
- Remove blockers and ensure on time delivery of projects while maintaining quality
- Lead and manage a team of IBM Sterling engineers
- Be responsible for hiring, training, coaching and career development of team members reporting to you
People Management
- Regularly engage in discussions with direct reports covering performance, well-being, career advancements, or performance improvement plans, and guide team to adhere to company norms
People Development
- Provide guidance, direction, and motivation to the team, in line with our values, purpose and purposeful performance framework, so that they meet organizational objectives
What you bring to the table:
- Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS or equivalent academic achievement or equivalent experience
- At least eight (8) years of IBM Sterling development experience
- Previous experience of leading and managing a team of IBM Sterling developers
- Implementation expertise of Next Gen platform of IBM Sterling Order Management, Inventory Visibility, Order Hub, and Call Center applications
- Experience working with IBM Sterling Order Management’s integrations touch points: PIM, Data Warehousing, CRM, ERP systems, WMS, Order Capture Channels, payment processing applications, tax calculation packages and transportation management systems
- Experience in Java programming, SOAP/REST Web Services, messaging, and event-based architecture
- Experience with Shell Scripts, JSON, and JMS compliant queues
- Experience in XML, XML parsers, and XSL
- Experience in customizing Sterling UIs: Order Hub and Call center
- Experience of using SOAP UI, Postman, LDAP Clients, Source control utilities, Packaging and Build tools
- Experience working with Oracle, DB2 and SQL Server databases
- Experience of working in Agile and Scrum teams
- Knowledge of DevSecOps in creating available, survivable, defensible, and resilient software
- Commitment to learning new technologies, completing training, acquiring certifications and being an impact player
- Problem solving, analysis and ability to work under minimal supervision
- Track record of delivering results within established timelines
- Strong communication skills and experience of working with diverse and remotely distributed teams
Location and Travel: At Balsam Brands, we believe that time spent together, in-person, collaborating and building relationships is important. To be considered for this role, candidates must live within the metropolitan Mexico City area in order to attend team meetings, offsites, or learning and development opportunities.
