We are seeking a dynamic, collaborative Product Manager to support our eCommerce initiatives. As Product Manager, you will play a critical role in developing our products and features to enhance the customer experience, as well as our business processes. You will be adept at using Agile methodologies to bring our products to life. You thrive both knee-deep in analysis, as well as with cross-functional collaboration, expertly managing expectations and communicating with your teammates.

This full-time position reports to the Sr. Product Manager. This role can work remote from any U.S. state where Balsam Brands is currently setup as an employer, which includes: CA, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MD, MA, MO, NJ, NC, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, and WA. This role can also work locally in our Redwood City, CA or Boise, ID office location. Our local teams work in a hybrid model, which currently includes Tuesday and Wednesday in-office.

To ensure sufficient overlap with functional and cross-functional team members globally, some flexibility with this role's regular work schedule will be required. Most of our teams have overlap with early morning and/or early evening PST. Specific scheduling needs for this role will be discussed in the initial interview.

What you’ll do:

  • Define story maps, author user stories, tasks, and bugs with a customer-centric eye
  • Function as product owner, maintaining well‐groomed backlogs and artifacts; actively manage expectations by communicating statuses and timelines
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, attending daily Scrums, and facilitating backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint review discussions, and sprint demos
  • Partner with technology, business analysts, and key stakeholders to dissect requirements, understand risks, dependencies, and required resources, and develop/deliver against timelines that account for these
  • Hold an in-depth understanding of and communicate the impact functional changes may have on the business
  • Partner with the business to update, document, and train on new business processes as needed
  • Data analysis using GA, Power BI, and Crazy Egg to understand user behavior and identify opportunities
  • Perform competitive analysis and market research to inform features that support future growth
  • Maintain and facilitate relationships with existing external vendors
  • Support other efforts/initiatives as needed

What you bring to the table:

  • 8+ years of professional experience, which includes experience as a Product Manager and hands-on experience working in a B2C eCommerce environment
  • Experience working with front-end and back-end development teams with an understanding of Headless framework with Microservices based architecture
  • Experience authoring user stories in support of the Agile development process and prioritizing backlogs and working with cross-functional partners to understand trade-offs 
  • In-depth understanding of A/B testing and optimization best practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent project-management skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Professional Product Management certifications are a plus (ex. CSM, Agile, PDP, etc.)
  • People management experience is a plus
  • Experience working with SAP Commerce or IBM Sterling is a plus

Travel for remote team members: At Balsam Brands, we believe that time spent together, in-person, collaborating and building relationships is important to who we are. For our newest remote Brandits, we will arrange travel to one of our local offices within your first three months of employment so you can meet and train with your new team in-person. You may also get to travel an additional 1 – 2 times a year for events such as team retreats, offsites, or learning and development opportunities.

The base pay range for this position is: $123,000 to $165,000. Where an individual falls within that range will vary based on several factors including geographic location and may vary depending on candidate qualifications and experience, applicable skills, and other job-related factors. We benchmark our pay ranges against current external data sources and regularly review compensation for our team members.
