Job Description

We are looking for someone who passionate, curious, and never satisfied in providing digital technology solutions to join us as Director of Digital Technology. In this role, you will be responsible for developing technology solutions for our eCommerce and business teams through your creative and innovative work. You will collaborate with User Experience, Creative, Project Management, Product, eCommerce, Growth, and Technology Architecture to define our roadmap and solutions. You will be leading the Digital Technology team in developing workflows, program functions, and design to build or modify complex web applications. In this role, you will also work closely with our business users and Technical team, acting as a subject matter expert with experience working with a enterprise eCommerce platforms, customer management platforms, and retail systems. 

This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer and will be the leader of our Digital Technology team. This is a full-time, hybrid in-office position located in Redwood City, CA and will require you to work three days in-office when we can safely return.

What you’ll do:

  • Work with our eCommerce business leaders along with our strategy & architecture teams to understand the business objectives, goals, and the desired outcomes 
  • Lead the Digital Technology team in developing technology roadmaps and plans that are aligned with business objectives, by determining business priorities, defining technical complexities, and providing a creative framework for building the desired solutions
  • Clearly and simply articulate the digital technology landscape and be a trusted partner to our e-commerce business and technology team (from day-to-day level to our Executive Team)
  • Provide technical impact analysis on current digital e-commerce platform and participate in the evaluation of new customer data and retail platforms for future business growth
  • Be the Digital Technology ambassador to represent & communicate technical design architecture for our team and facilitate effective decision-making
  • Leverage deep knowledge of tech and industry capabilities to help evaluate and evolve our development partners and lead the team through a changing digital landscape
  • Lead and collaborate with technical leads, UI & UX leads, QA leads, product, and project managers to design and build solution that are architecturally scalable, can be implemented and adaptable per business needs
  • Build and manage a team of digital technology specialists and invest in their development growth within the organization

What you bring to the table:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3 + years of people management experience
  • Minimum 5 + years of experience leading technology teams as a technology leader
  • Experience working within the retail and e-commerce industry is desirable
  • Experience working on commerce platforms is a must - SAP Commerce /Commerce Tools / Oracle Commerce
  • Experience working with CRM and Retail system is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server / MySQL / Oracle Database
  • Strong knowledge of Microservices, API and Headless Architecture
  • Experience working with integrating enterprise system through API platforms
