Job Description
Ballantynes are seeking a Sous Chef to join our Hospitality Team working in both the Tearooms Production and Kin Bistro Kitchens.
The Production Kitchen produces food for our iconic Tearooms, The Ballantyne Home Kitchen Range and Retail Pantry. This kitchen produces high volume and quality products in a varied and fast paced environment.
Kin, our sixty seat Bistro, offers a modern seasonal menu throughout the day and is the venue for regular in-house events such as The Breakfast Club, Books and Bubbles, fashion and products launches throughout the year. Plenty of variety on offer throughout the department for a talented Chef to join our great team.
Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will have the following experience, skills and attributes:
- Experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen environment - Sous Chef experience desirable
- Baking Skills are desirable
- Proven experience in the development and curation of food produce
- Experience with ordering and stock management
- High standard of presentation skills and hygiene standards
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritise effectively and multitask.
- Knowledgeable of products including local and regional
- Excellent time management skills
- Willing to learn and share knowledge.
- Flexible and able to adapt different café offerings.
Additional Information
Working alongside a great team, this is a permanent opportunity with a minimum of 32 hours per week. This includes flexible hours, with a minimum of one weekend day a week with the occasional late night to cover exciting in-house events.
