Job Description
Join Our Dynamic Team as a Senior Data Governance Executive! 🌟
We are seeking a highly organised and collaborative Senior Data Governance Executive to support the Data Governance Lead in enhancing, improving and embedding a robust data governance capability across the organisation.
What will you be doing?
The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day management of governance activities, supporting the implementation of governance frameworks, data quality initiatives, stewardship practices, metadata management, and compliance requirements. Working closely with business stakeholders, data owners, technology teams, and project delivery functions, the Senior Data Governance Executive will help ensure data is managed as a trusted enterprise asset.
Accountabilities and Deliverables:
Governance Framework Delivery
Support the Data Governance Lead in expanding and maintaining the enterprise Data Governance Framework.
Translate governance framework into practical processes, standards, and operating procedures.
Assist with the development and maintenance of governance policies and controls.
Coordinate governance activities across business functions.
Monitor adherence to governance standards and escalate risks where appropriate.
Data Stewardship & Ownership
Support the establishment and ongoing management of Data Owner and Data Steward frameworks and communities.
Facilitate stewardship meetings and governance forums.
Ensure roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities are clearly defined and maintained.
Promote adoption of governance practices across the organisation.
Data Quality Management
Develop data quality initiatives, processes and metrics using an ‘Automation and AI First’ approach.
Define, build and monitor autonomous Quality KPIs and controls.
Support investigation and resolution of data quality issues.
Identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Produce regular data quality reporting for governance stakeholders.
Metadata & Data Catalogue Management
Support the development and maintenance of enterprise metadata and business glossary capabilities.
Ensure critical data assets are documented and catalogued.
Work with business and technical teams to improve data lineage visibility.
Drive adoption of data governance tooling and processes.
Governance Reporting & Management Information
Develop dashboards and reports covering governance, compliance, and data quality metrics.
Track governance actions, risks, issues, and decisions.
Produce materials for Data Governance Committees and Leadership Forums.
Support preparation of executive updates for senior management.
Regulatory & Compliance Support
Assist with GDPR compliance activities and data protection requirements.
Support audit, risk, and assurance reviews.
Maintain governance documentation, policies, and evidence required for regulatory purposes.
Work with Data Governance Lead, Security, Compliance, and Legal teams to address governance obligations.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management
Build strong working relationships across business and technology teams.
Deliver governance awareness and training sessions.
Support organisational adoption of governance processes and controls.
Act as a trusted governance advisor for projects and change initiatives.

Core Competencies:
Experience working within a formal data governance operating model.
Experience with governance tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation, or Informatica.
Experience with a cloud-based data platform, such as Snowflake, Azure or AWS.
Experience supporting data transformation or data platform transformation programmes.
Knowledge of master data management and metadata management practices.
Experience operating in international or multi-country environments.

Experience supporting or delivering Data Governance programmes within a medium or large organisation.
Strong understanding of Data Governance principles and best practices.
Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders across business and technology functions.
Knowledge of GDPR and data protection regulations.
Experience producing governance reporting and management information.
