Role Purpose 

Babble is seeking a Data Governance Executive to support the delivery of its Data Strategy and Data Governance Framework. The role will work closely with business stakeholders, system owners, data stewards, and the wider Data Team to improve data quality, strengthen data ownership, and ensure that data is managed consistently across the organisation. 

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to build a career in Data Governance, Data Management, Master Data Management (MDM), and Data Quality. The role Supports all areas of data governance. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Data Governance 

  • Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of Babble's Data Governance Framework. 

  • Assist with the creation, maintenance, and communication of data policies, standards, procedures, and governance documentation. 

  • Coordinate Data Working Group activities, including agendas, meeting notes, actions, and follow-ups. 

  • Maintain governance artefacts including data glossaries, data dictionaries, ownership registers, and governance scorecards. 

  • Support the rollout of governance initiatives across business functions 

Data Quality 

  • Support the development of automation to monitor and analyse data quality metrics and dashboards. 

  • Investigate and track data quality issues to resolution. 

  • Assist with root-cause analysis of data quality problems. 

  • Support the development and documentation of business rules and data quality controls. 

  • Coordinate data cleansing and remediation activities with business stakeholders.  

Master Data Management (MDM) 

  • Support customer, supplier, product, and reference data governance initiatives. 

  • Assist with duplicate management, golden record maintenance, and data standardisation activities. 

  • Help document, and improve, master data processes and controls. 

  • Work with system owners and data stewards to improve data consistency across systems.  

Data Ownership & Stewardship 

  • Support Data Owners, Data Stewards, Data Custodians and Data Champions in fulfilling their responsibilities. 

  • Maintain ownership matrices and governance records. 

  • Monitor progress of agreed governance actions and escalate risks where appropriate. 

  • Assist business teams in understanding their accountability for data quality and compliance.  

Training & Adoption 

  • Help develop and deliver data governance awareness training. 

  • Promote data literacy and best practice across the organisation. 

  • Create guidance materials, presentations, process documentation and communications. 

  • Support onboarding activities related to data ownership and stewardship.  

Qualifications

Essential 

  • 1–3 years' experience in Data Governance, Data Quality, Business Analysis, Data Administration, CRM Administration, or a related role. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills. 

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. 

  • Experience creating process documentation and business reports. 

  • Strong attention to detail. 

Desirable 

  • Experience with Salesforce. 

  • Experience with Snowflake. 

  • Understanding of Master Data Management principles. 

  • Understanding of GDPR and information governance. 

  • Familiarity with DAMA Data Management principles.

WORKING CONTEXT 

The team 

  • Reports to the SVP of Data & Technology (UK-based), with a dotted line to the Head of PMO. 

  • Works closely with UK-based capability leads who own the technical direction of data and technology in their respective domains. 

  • Line manages the Kosovo-based delivery squad — a mix of data engineering, data quality, governance, and systems development capability. 

The business 

  • Babble is a UK cloud technology and communications provider serving SME and mid-market customers. Post-acquisition, transformation-stage — 34 acquisitions across 2018–2023. 

  • Data & Technology covers the full stack: data engineering, MDM, governance, analytics, TechOps, and systems administration (Salesforce, Acumatica, Snowflake, Informatica, HiBob, Halo PSA, Workday Adaptive). The FY26 Data Strategy is anchored around the D&T roadmap, FY26 OKRs, and the BabbleQuest operational excellence programme.
