Job Description

Position: Business Development Executive
Industry: Third-Party Logistics
Location: 330 S Wells St, Chicago, IL 60606
Compensation: Base salary (dependent on experience) + uncapped commission + full benefits!

As a Business Development Executive, you will create your individual portfolio of accounts through research and prospecting while becoming consultative in providing logistics solutions based on individual customer needs.

This consultative style will provide the opportunity to navigate longer sales cycles and develop account-specific growth strategies. Accounts are maintained and grown through daily communication with customers and carriers while upholding BMM’s commitment to service.

What you can expect:

  • Prospect for new customers with an ambitious mentality via email, phone, and networking, selling BMM’s services as a third-party logistics provider.
  • Establish lasting relationships with these customers to build and maintain a strong book of business
  • Frequent phone call and email interaction with industry professionals to grow network and increase earning potential
  • Follow/research industry and market trends to maintain well-informed interactions with clients
  • Work with other departments to ensure seamless completion of the shipping process for your customers
  • Manage customer interaction with continued support, customer service, and troubleshooting
  • Set and review goals with management, working to reach and surpass those goals
  • Negotiate rates to achieve maximum profit for the company and maximum commission for you!

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Passion for sales and a drive to succeed
  • High energy, self-motivated, ambitious team players that want to control their own income
  • Advanced ability to multi-task
  • Impeccable verbal and written skills
  • Strong ability to negotiate, motivate, persuade, and influence others
  • Enthusiastic, persistent, and confident approach
  • Prior experience in inside or outside sales is beneficial, but not necessary
  • Knowledge of various Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Excel and Word
