Description

This individual will be responsible for entering, overseeing and helping to resolve the cargo claims filed by customers of BMM Logistics. The position requires the individual to work with a number of different BMM teams to assist in the resolution of claims that have been filed or amicably resolve situations in which product is damaged during transit.

 

Duties

·         Facilitate the gathering of information that will allow proper response to claim losses and legal documents

·         Ability to build a working relationship with customers, carrier, insurance companies and the office network

·         Monitor and respond professionally and with a customer service mindset to email and voicemail

·         Analyze and interpret data with attention to compliance initiatives

·         Identifies exposures to the company and escalates accordingly on pending claims and litigation that may have an adverse impact on financials

·         Assist customers in making arrangements with carrier to return goods and schedule inspections. This involves coordination and communications with management, employees and agents

·         Responsible to maintain excellent task maintenance in order to have proper follow up on each claim

·         Identifying compliance problems that call for formal attention and escalate appropriately

·         Be knowledgeable and confident of critical requirements and processes for proper carrier & customer updating and onboarding

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong problem solving and decision making abilities
  • 2-5 years’ experience in the logistics/transportation industry preferred
  • Quick learner who is successful at multi-tasking
  • Team player who can also produce independent results
  • Possesses strong detail orientation
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Solutions focus mindset as this role will be providing answers to the BMM network, customers and carriers on assigned cargo claims portfolio
