Job Description

The Data Engineer - Business Analytics will join BIC’s Global Data & Analytics Team to design, develop and deliver key data solutions.

What you’ll do

You will be responsible for ensuring our data enables informed business decisions. You will achieve this by developing and creating Business Intelligence solutions in our Global Data Warehouse through periodic, snapshot, real-time and insight reporting. You will be joining a Global Data & Analytics Team that partners with all departments within the company.

You will collaborate with our Business Partners to understand how data can answer key questions. You will analyze large volumes of data (covering sales, forecast, financial, operational and customer insight) to develop data models, data flows, and clear reports to support answering their questions.

You’ll work with our Global Data Platform based on the latest BI & Data technologies like Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Analysis Services and Power BI.

Projects you’ll work on

Key projects include transforming reporting for our commercial organization, group supply chain, and participating in the decommissioning of Cognos reporting with a full migration to the Global Data Platform built in Microsoft Azure.

Qualifications

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, IT or Data/Analytics related studies preferred
  • At least 3 years of direct experience working within Business Intelligence
  • Solid data modeling experience that supports analytics solutions
  • Visualization experience in tools like PowerBI, Tableau
  • Data Analysis & Insight Discovery
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Strong communication skills

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Data-related degree
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft's BI technology: SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis (SSAS) with Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse
  • Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD
  • Python or R
  • Experience working within a BI consultancy
  • Experience with stakeholder management
