The purpose of the position is to develop and provide a consistent category management approach & guidelines for the categories, across all channels & continents
via development of key shopper & category insights;
via development of compelling category vision;
via identification of future opportunities, growth drivers;
via definition of in-store tactics.
Proactively and collaboratively work across the Company to determine strategies that can effectively be used as a lever to grow revenue and improve profit for the organization.
The main responsibilities will be the following :
Define omni-channel guidelines (playbooks) across Category Management levers that will be adapted in local markets, in particular:
how to drive incremental sales & profit for BIC and the retail partner,
how to gain optimized distribution & visibility for BIC products in the retail environment.
how to execute the best way the category at store level…
Identify growth drivers for the category & BIC initiatives to support them.
Translate our marketing & commercial strategies into customer business plan to position BIC as preferred business partner.
Set up tools, processes and trainings for in-market optimization, including merchandising tactics & space planning activities using the relevant software, hosting of “S&CD Summits” every semester and upskilling of local teams (via dedicated trainings or one-to-one coaching when needed).
Provides analytical inputs on category and regional opportunities.
Align between functions involved in Shopper & Category Development (especially Marketing, Sales, RGM, Advanced Analytics, Finance) and coordinate programs and actions needed to implement recommendations.
Build-up of Shopper & Category Development expertise across organization, including driving to common understanding and “language” around S&CD.
Provide dedicated support to local teams on key identified category management projects.
Monitor most successful local instore actions to create future best practices to be scaled on a wider scope.
Animate the category management community with efficient communication and share best practices.
Undergraduate business degree or other discipline.
8 + years of business experience in analytical role within FMCG managing multi-site operations.
At least 4 years of prior category development experience required. Previous role in sales / commercial highly preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively within a large multi-site operations organization.
Strong interpersonal, selling skills and capability to communicate effectively with different level of people inside/outside of organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Computer skills – highly proficient using tools such as Excel, BI, space management software, etc... Knowledge of IRI, Nielsen systems a plus.
Ability to travel 30% to 40% of the year.
