The Market Intelligence & Insights Senior Manager (MIISM) is responsible to deliver all market intelligence and build compelling analysis to support the business and the decision-making process across the organization to drive growth based on market data findings and insights.
This position provides leadership and expertise to define & implement all market reporting/ dashboards / consolidations requirements to monitor BIC’s performance in market and cross fertilize all available data and market knowledge (including panels, syndicated, competitive, consumer, sales etc) to generate market insights to identify avenues for optimization, new opportunities and drive growth.
The Market & Consumer Insights/Intelligence team operates as the Centre Of Excellence (COE) on actionable insights in the areas of Market Analysis & Research (business analytics, opportunities), Consumer/Shopper Behavioural Research (trends, needs, motivations, purchase habits) and User/Product Research (user perception & attitudes, product evaluation). The MIISM will play a pivotal role in leading a team of talented market experts/analysts and engage the rest of the M&CI functions, in accordance with the organization’s market insights needs and business objectives.
The ideal candidate will have experience or background in market analysis/business analytics, with experience in developing and managing a group of market experts/analysts and cross-collaboration experience working with data science/analytics teams to identify, define and manage data sources, processes to develop insights, and deliver competitive advantage.
Define & implement all market reporting/dashboards/consolidations requirements to monitor BIC’s performance in market
Cross fertilize all available data and market knowledge to generate market insights, identify opportunities and drive growth
Build appropriate business intelligence on past trends to build future forecasting tools to support the LTS process and the category strategy. Enable processes that ensure accuracy of market trend forecasting
Lead Quarterly Insights Meetings to ensure bottom up and top down intelligence and sharing
Business partnering and support to M&CI stakeholders – Innovation and Commercialization teams - in all deliverables
Lead and manage market expert team, implementing process and consistency across segments and build the data analysis capabilities in close collaboration with data science/analytics and other business teams
Lead cross-collaboration on market research, advanced analytics initiatives, stay informed on market insight advances and develop/mature the Community of Excellence (COE) on Insights
Develop and implement the group market intelligence and insights strategy. Communicate strategy and analytic results in an actionable and non-technical manner to department leaders
Evaluate market trends with concrete recommendations for optimization of business portfolio and strategy
Experience in conducting brand tracking, marketing performance evaluation including marketing effectiveness evaluation, cross channel attribution (would be a plus)
Conduct routine business analysis including key drivers and opportunities for improvement
Leads ad hoc business analysis on key issues such as innovation performance, event/seasonal performance, business segment performance, etc.
Mine global data sources (e.g. Nielsen, Euromonitor, Global Data) for cross market learning and implications for current and new business opportunities
Partner with key members of Marketing, Finance, Product Design, Commercialization teams to identify and operationalize opportunities for growth
Conducts competitive benchmarking to evaluate company’s position vs. competitors, recommend opportunities for improvements
Partner with regional teams and recommend global implications
Build advocacy for sustained organizational support in analytic capabilities and understanding of the business
Lead the development of KPIs and dashboards for business measurement to increase efficiency and improve effectiveness of market intelligence function - evidenced by outcomes including market share gains from new products, opportunity capitalization, accuracy of market trend forecasting, reporting on time/in full to business partners, budget optimization
- Effectively partner with consumer and user/product insight partners for holistic view of the business
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s/Advanced degree preferred) in quantitative discipline: statistics, quantitative psychology, math, economics/econometrics, or other quantitative decision sciences
7+ years of progressive business experience in market research, business analytics, data driven decision making
4+ years of experience working in a fast-moving consumer goods company and/or data – analytic supplier (e.g. Nielsen, IRI, or other related companies) with track of working in multiple marketing data science focused projects
Experience leveraging analytics methods including techniques such as web scaping, sentiment analysis, segmentation, regression models, decision trees, NLP, machine learning to enable application development, insight synthesis and effective internal (data science)/external (agency) collaboration.
Demonstrate effective team and project management including setting appropriate action standards, selecting and guiding suppliers, managing within budget and schedule constraints, and, delivering actionable results with globally scalable solutions
Leader as well as team player with ability to build and manage key relationships
Excellent communicator with ability to distill complex issues into clear, concise communications
Excellent problem-solving skills and experience analyzing large amounts of data. Expertise with syndicated tools: Nielsen, IRI etc including syndicated analysis, panel analysis as well as advanced analytics
Function as a key business partner to understand business needs and operationalize into analytical projects
Working knowledge in Microsoft Azure and scaling analytic products in the cloud
Working knowledge in visualization platforms and customization (Power BI, Tableau etc)
