We’re seeking a Market Data Procurement Specialist to oversee the acquisition of essential historical and real-time market data that supports our high-frequency trading (HFT) strategies. This role manages the complete data procurement lifecycle, from identifying data needs and evaluating vendors to negotiating contracts and maintaining vendor relationships. The ideal candidate has a strong background in market data procurement and excels at collaboration with diverse internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Data Procurement Management

  • Manage the end-to-end process of acquiring real-time and historical market data.

  • Clarify data requirements in collaboration with Trading, IT, and other relevant teams.

  • Identify and evaluate potential data vendors to source the best data solutions.

• Vendor Evaluation and Selection

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of vendor offerings, including terms, pricing and data quality.

  • Prepare detailed comparisons to inform decision-making processes.

  • Negotiate contracts and licensing agreements to secure favorable terms.

• Licensing and Compliance

  • Analyze licensing options for real-time data from major exchanges (e.g., ICE, CME, EUREX, CBOE, NYSE, NASDAQ).

  • Develop briefings on suitable licensing models that align with company requirements and compliance standards.

• Internal Coordination

  • Collaborate with Project Management, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure data solutions meet all internal and regulatory requirements.

  • Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders to streamline procurement processes.

• Process Development

  • Formalize and establish robust procurement processes to enhance efficiency and compliance.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve procurement workflows and practices.

• Vendor Catalog Maintenance:

  • Maintain and update the vendor catalog with the latest information on data offerings, pricing, and contractual terms.

  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all vendor interactions and agreements.

• Payment Governance

  • Oversee payment processes related to data procurement, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.

  • Coordinate with finance teams to manage budgets and expenditures related to data acquisition.

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in real-time and historical market data procurement.

  • Hands-on experience with real-time data licensing from at least one major exchange (e.g., ICE, CME, EUREX, CBOE, NYSE, NASDAQ).

  • Proven experience managing historical data procurement with familiarity across multiple vendors and their enterprise offerings.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of high-frequency trading (HFT) operations and the role of market data within algorithmic trading systems.

  • Familiarity with data formats, APIs, and data management systems used in financial trading environments.

• Soft Skills:

  • Excellent negotiation skills to secure optimal terms and pricing with data vendors.

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities to assess and compare data offerings effectively.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work seamlessly with diverse internal teams.

• Language Proficiency:

  • Advanced proficiency in English (minimum C1 level).
