Job Description

General Responsibility

The Procurement Transportations Specialist position is a hands-on job requiring excellent organizational and communication skills. In this role, you will work with Spare Parts, Sales, Engineering and Project Management personnel to ensure clients receive a superior level of service and communication around the suite of core deliverables of Transportation and Order Expediting. 

Responsibilities

Transportation:

  • Responsible for assigned shipments for BNA domestic & internationally. Works with Sales and project execution to ensure shipping is on time and in budget.
  • Coordinates overseas shipments (arrange pro-forma invoices, shipping documents and provide instructions, etc.) and process Custom's paperwork.
  • Handles Internal Shipments.
  • Provides information about transport cost, customs duties and tariffs to other teams.
  • Expedites shipments and updates the relevant stake holders about status and takes mitigation actions to avoid delays.
  • Selects and manages freight forwarders.
  • Cooperates and supports global transportation team and category management.
  • Manages freight damages and insurance claims.
  • Consults BEUMER North America Group companies for shipping and warehousing demands.

Order Expediting:

  • Ensuring Goods Receipts and completed orders are entered into the system.
  • Confirms follow-up on orders to other BEUMER Group companies as needed.
  • Guarantees Data Entry of order confirmations (ship dates, orders, etc.) are completed.
  • Safeguards deliveries as requested by clients are expedited and provide updates to clients.
  • Monitor the performance of forwarders across the entire supply chain.
  • Maintain constant communication with forwarders and suppliers to identify process, product, and service improvement opportunities.
  • Manages progress with the forwarder, including detailed progress reporting and visits if necessary.

Communicate with Clients and Project Managers:

  • Answer inquiries regarding order status or delivery dates.
  • Ensures deliveries as requested by clients are expedited and provide updates to clients.
  • Contact Clients when an order ships.

Compensation Range: 60,000-70,000 Annually 
The posted salary range reflects the compensation the company reasonably expects to offer for this position. Actual compensation will not be less than the posted minimum and will be based on multiple factors.

Qualifications

Required: 

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent, or other relevant combination of experience and training that meet the minimum requirements.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a hands-on Transportation and order expediting role.

Functional skills:

  • Use of shipping software and preferably prior SAP experience
  • Experience in liaise with and working in a network of warehouse and distribution centers
  • Experience with international shipping including import/export regulations and processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of products

Soft skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; time management skills; strong organizational skills; attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong hands-on experience dealing with clients; professional, positive, and energetic attitude
