Job Description

As a Senior Technical Sales Specialist, Parts – Palletizing, Packaging, and Cement Systems, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and growing our automation and materials handling solutions across multiple industrial sectors. This position requires a strong technical foundation, hands-on familiarity with palletizing and packaging systems, and a strategic mindset for supporting cement and heavy material operations.

You will serve as a technical subject matter expert, collaborating across departments to ensure order accuracy, troubleshoot complex system issues, and drive customer success through proactive sales support, training, and lifecycle management. Your work will directly contribute to system uptime, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction across multiple product segments.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Technical Sales & Cross-Segment Support

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for automation equipment and components within palletizing, packaging, and cement handling systems.
  • Generate proposals, purchase orders, and confirmations aligned with customer needs and operational requirements.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for clients, ensuring accurate identification and compatibility of components across automation, palletizing, and cement system applications.
  • Support other business segments by assisting with order processing, cross-functional project coordination, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Interpret and communicate technical information such as mechanical drawings, PLC schematics, and electrical layouts to internal teams and customers.

Technical Investigation & Enablement

  • Conduct technical investigations to identify root causes of equipment or order-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and service teams to resolve technical discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop technical documentation and training resources for both internal staff and customers.
  • Lead training sessions for Sales and Support teams focused on product knowledge, documentation interpretation, and troubleshooting techniques.

Operational & Supply Chain Optimization

  • Partner with supply chain, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure part and equipment availability for critical operations.
  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in the order and fulfillment process, proposing improvements to enhance speed and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to secure pricing, lead times, and lifecycle data for equipment and spare parts.

Customer Engagement & Site Support

  • Conduct on-site customer visits to assess system performance, review installed equipment and recommend upgrades or critical spares.
  • Provide proactive lifecycle management for automation systems in palletizing, packaging, and cement applications.
  • Support retrofit, upgrade, and maintenance initiatives that enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

Mentorship

  • Mentor team members in technical accuracy.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration across departments and product lines.

Sales Operations & Communication

  • Maintain detailed and accurate CRM/ERP records for quotes, orders, and customer interactions.
  • Support communication initiatives, including product updates, technical bulletins, and service promotions.
  • Uphold all company policies, safety standards, and ethical practices while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Pay range: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 annually 

The posted salary range reflects the compensation the company reasonably expects to offer for this position. Actual compensation will not be less than the posted minimum and will be based on multiple factors.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales, automation support, or material handling, preferably with exposure to palletizing, packaging, or cement industries.
  • Strong knowledge of automation equipment, conveyors, robotics, motors, drives, and sensors.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and control schematics.
  • Experience with ERP and CRM systems for order processing and customer tracking.
  • Proven ability to perform technical investigations and communicate complex solutions clearly.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and project coordination skills.
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Willingness to travel (10–15%) for site visits and customer support.
