Job Description

Role Purpose

The Senior Software Engineer is part of a New Jersey based software development team.   You will be working on logistics projects for a wide range of large companies developing customer specific additions to our base software by providing sortation solutions for warehouses, distribution centers, postal facilities and airports. This position offers the opportunity for substantial career development and will work closely with Engineering, Project Management and Service. Must be able to travel up to 40% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Apply industry best-practice software standards and technology to complex business problems.
  • Programming primarily in C, C++ and SQL.
  • Full stack developer
  • Help set-up and maintain development, test and production environment.
  • Design and program application software for upper level sortation solutions
  • Develop interface programs to ERP and Warehouse Management Systems
  • Conduct test of software with customers
  • Create user documentation for software applications
  • May be assigned to special projects or required to perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelors or Master's degree  in  Computer  Science  or  Computer  Engineering  or  Equivalent knowledge from practical experience
  • 5+ years of relevant programming experience
  • Excellent programming skills
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate with global colleagues
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills; attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure; with both a sense of urgency and thoroughness
  • Professional, positive, and energetic attitude
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.

Desired 

  • Proficiency with C++, C#, and SQL
  • Proficiency with TCP sockets, Restful API's, and Angular
  • Experience with warehousing or distribution centers is preferred
