Job Description
Why This Role Matters
As Design Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of complex construction projects by leading all Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) design activities from concept through to handover. You will act as the key link between clients, consultants, authorities, engineering teams, and project stakeholders, ensuring design excellence, constructability, compliance, and alignment with project objectives. Your leadership will drive innovative, cost-effective, and technically robust solutions that support successful project delivery across a diverse portfolio of projects.
What You'll Drive
- Lead and manage all Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) design activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, specialist subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Ensure timely delivery and approval of design deliverables including drawings, specifications, reports, calculations, BIM models, and technical submissions.
- Manage design interfaces across CSA, MEP, façade, infrastructure, utility, and specialist systems.
- Lead design reviews, constructability assessments, value engineering workshops, and technical optimization initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate design and technical risks while maintaining quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
- Support procurement activities through technical evaluations, package reviews, and vendor coordination.
- Ensure seamless integration between design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Act as the primary technical interface with clients, consultants, authorities, and project stakeholders.
- Lead technical workshops, coordination meetings, and design governance processes.
- Mentor and develop engineering and design management teams while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Design Management within EPC, Design & Build, Engineering Consultancy, or major construction environments.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale building, infrastructure, industrial, hospitality, healthcare, aviation, marine, commercial, residential, mixed-use, or complex construction projects.
- Strong expertise in multidisciplinary design coordination across CSA, MEP, façade, infrastructure, and specialist systems.
- Demonstrated experience managing consultants, subconsultants, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Extensive experience in constructability reviews, value engineering, technical optimization, and design-to-construction integration.
- Strong understanding of international design standards, authority approval processes, permitting requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience working within fast-track project environments and coordinating design, procurement, and construction programmes.
- Proficiency in BIM methodologies, digital engineering platforms, and information management systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience acting as the primary technical interface between clients, consultants, authorities, contractors, and project teams.
