Job Description

We are currently looking for 2 profiles:

  • Continuous Improvement Officer
    • In Italic the tasks and competencies that are more specific for this second role which is more based on audits.

Function

The Continuous Improvement Officer provides guidance and supports the maintenance and monitoring of the BESIX Construction certified Management System.

He/she reports to the Continuous Improvement Manager and will work in close collaboration with the other members of the QHSE team delivering service to all users of the management system.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Focal point for management system related matters and provide support to the BESIX organisation, from management and process owners up to all end users.
  • Provide operational support from BESIX Head Office but also assist construction sites in setting-up project specific mgt. systems during start-up and strengthening governance during execution. This shall be done in close cooperation with the project QHSE Manager and BU QHSE Manager.
  • Execute internal audits in line with the yearly audit planning and needs of the business. This includes, planning, reporting and follow-up of the related actions in line with the audit procedure.
  • If requested assist in the communication with the external certification body.
  • Actively & dynamically promote the management system and its supportive capacity to BESIX community of actors.
  • Create and provide related trainings and offer permanent guidance to the business in line with guidelines of each process owner and the requirements of the certified company management system (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, VCA).
  • Maintain the mgt. system on the digital platform that hosts it. This includes the document management of the mgt. system content (manuals, process maps, procedures, policies, templates, etc).
  • Use, support and promote related digital tools.
  • Assist the process owners in the collection and monitoring of their KPI related data.
  • Assist in the preparation of the periodic management review.
  • Proactively propose improvements and channel improvements suggested by the business / end users.
  • As an active member of the Blue sky project team, you will have the opportunity to co-create a full revamp of the current certified BESIX Integrated Management System. For this part you will report to the Blue sky Project manager.

Qualifications

Key qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor or Master Degree preferably as quality or process expert, or similar.
  • Preferably minimum of 5 years experience in the construction industry in an international context.
  • Experience in business support, process management and performance monitoring.
  • Experience in the maintenance and improvement of Management Systems in a complex business context, the standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 and digital document control.
  • Process auditing experience and familiar with related reporting standards. Lead auditor qualification(s) is a plus.
  • Client oriented, analytical and problem-solving mindset, able to work autonomous.
  • Flexible with good organizational skills enabling you to manage priorities and several tasks at the same time.
  • Team player that pro-actively proposes solutions and improvements.
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written English and French or Dutch (additional languages are a plus).
  • Able and willing to deliver training in front of an audience.
  • Digital hands-on, MS Windows, MS Office and SharePoint are a must.
  • Willing to occasionally travel domestically/ internationally on short missions.
