Job Description

BESIX Watpac have an exciting opportunity for a Building Cadet to join our highly successful North QLD Construction team in Cairns.  The purpose of this role will be to provide assistance in the preparation of contract documents, the tendering process and other general site administration duties.

  • Proactively drive company safety, environment and quality policies, practices and procedures in compliance with Management Plans and OH&S legislative requirements to provide a safe workplace at all times.
  •  Assist with the trade package tendering process including compilation and approval of tender documents and proposed tender list, issue of documents, receipt of tenders, comparison of tenders and submission of tender recommendation for approval.
  • Assist with general administration of trade packages following award including progress payments, variations and final accounts.
  • Compilation and control of project documents including maintenance of a control register. Ensure prompt issue of documentation to the respective parties.
  • Assist with general site duties, office and administration as required.

Qualifications

The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience

  • Recognised tertiary or trade qualification in a construction related field.
  • Prior experience in a similar role delivering construction projects.
  • Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, and decision making skills.
