Job Description
With the recent approval of the design and construct contract, we are seeking a Building Cadet to join our Te Kaha CMUA project team. The purpose of this role will be to provide assistance in the preparation of contract documents, the tendering process and other general site administration duties.
- Proactively drive company safety, environment and quality policies, practices and procedures in compliance with Management Plans and OH&S legislative requirements to provide a safe workplace at all times.
- Assist with the trade package tendering process including compilation and approval of tender documents and proposed tender list, issue of documents, receipt of tenders, comparison of tenders and submission of tender recommendation for approval.
- Assist with general administration of trade packages following award including progress payments, variations and final accounts.
- Compilation and control of project documents including maintenance of a control register. Ensure prompt issue of documentation to the respective parties.
- Assist with general site duties, office and administration as required.
Qualifications
The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience.
- Currently studying tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying.
- Working knowledge of MSWord, MSExcel, MSOutlook and ability and willingness to learn new software packages as required.
- Ability and willingness to learn new skills and take on new tasks, as required.
- Able to cope with shifting work priorities and the ability to prioritise work.
- Proven track record and ongoing focus on timeliness, accuracy and punctuality.
