Job Description

BESIX Watpac are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator & Cost Planner to join our collaborative Estimating Team. You will be responsible for compiling tenders and cost plans for proposals across Heath, Education, Commercial, Defence, Stadiums and Marine sectors.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Proactively drive company safety policies, practices and procedures in compliance with OH&S legislative requirements to provide a safe workplace at all times.
  • Compile and prepare tenders ensuring that all resources and cost relating to project have been reviewed.
  • Maintain regular contact with major suppliers, subcontractors, government authorities, clients and industry consultants to achieve the company's objectives.
  • Utilise of industry software to present cost plans and tenders in a clear and concise format.
  • Prepare tenders based on various forms of construction delivery.
  • Assist the team in negotiating tenders and conditions.
  • Collate of cost data directly from industry suppliers, subcontractors and completed projects.
  • Monitor project costs and provide cost alternatives as required.

Qualifications

The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering / Quantity Surveying or relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in cost planning and estimating in a senior capacity
  • Understanding of industry construction techniques and proficient skills in industry software.
  • Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills through development of relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
