Job Description

Reporting to the General Manager - Qld, NT & NZ, and as part of the business unit Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for securing new business for the regions, including managing pursuit, bid and client relationship strategies and activities.

The key responsibilities of this position will include:

  • Formulate, recommend, implement and update business development and marketing strategies, in collaboration with the General Manager.
  • Ensure the BESIX Watpac brand proposition is appropriately reflected in the operating markets with regards to all marketing and branding activities.
  • Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a two-year look-ahead project opportunities pipeline.
  • Liaise with representatives of existing and potential clients and organisations to promote projects.
  • In consultation with the Senior Leadership Team, assist in early assessment of project risk levels and managing the project opportunity assessment process to determine Target Projects.
  • Manage all post-bid contact with clients including clarifications and presentation sessions.
  • Ensure the BESIX Watpac standard bid preparation policies and procedures are followed, and client objectives are appropriate addressed within submissions.

Qualifications

This role will require the following qualifications and experience:

  • Demonstrated business development and work winning experience within construction, ideally across a broad range of sectors.
  • Tertiary qualifications in construction, project management or relevant discipline.
  • A detailed understanding of client project delivery approaches, contracting strategies and procurement methods.
  • Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the external and internal business environment.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to external and internal stakeholders, including executive management.
