Job Description

BESIX Watpac are seeking an experienced Services Manager to manage the design, coordination, installation and commissioning of building services on diverse projects in South East Queensland.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Proactively drive company safety policies, practices and procedures in compliance with OH&S legislative requirements to provide a safe workplace at all times.
  • Manage the design of Building Services documentation packages across the project, including Mechanical, Electrical, Security, ICT and Hydraulic.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure that the developing documentation meets the required specification, cost budgets and programme for construction works.
  • Oversee coordination and review all documentation for adequacy of design input.
  • Participate in the selection of subcontractors.
  • Monitor progress and quality of services installation and commissioning, and participate in the final handover of the project.

Qualifications

The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience:

  • Qualifications in a relevant Engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical or hydraulic services) together with solid industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working on large-scale projects, managing complex building services packages (mechanical, electrical, communication/ICT/BMS and hydraulic).
  • Experience managing complex integrated systems.
  • Experience with the installation, maintenance and testing of essential and advanced building services, including Mechanical, Electrical, Security & ICT as well as Hydraulic.
  • Sound understanding and application of statutory legislation including knowledge of the OHS Act, Building Code of Australia and the relevant services Australian Standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills through development of effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
