Job Description

BESIX Watpac are looking for a foreman to join a landmark defence project in Adelaide. Key responsibilities of this role include;  

  • Proactively drive company safety policies, practices and procedures in compliance with OH&S legislative requirements to provide a safe workplace at all times.
  • Organise sequencing of the on-site activities, including the co-ordination of materials, equipment, personnel, and materials handling plant.
  • In consultation with the Project Manager, allocate necessary site staff and resources and confirm that all the resources for the project will be available when required.
  • Review the construction programme with the Site Manager, re-sequencing of the activities as necessary to achieve the programmed completion date.
  • Ensure that the company's policies and practices on safety, industrial relations and quality assurance are implemented on site.
  • Ensure quality and compliance with standards and contract documents.

Qualifications

The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience

  • A recognised tertiary or trade qualification in a construction related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising large construction projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high pressure environment.
  • Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills.
