Job Description

BESIX Watpac have a great opportunity for an experienced Draftsperson to join their Queensland team. Working under the direction of the BIM Manager and Engineering Director responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Assist operations with models assessment, coordination, update, quantities take off, clash detection using collaboration tools, such as BIM 360, Navisworks and Revizto.
  • Assist tender teams in preparing tender documentation: methodology, site installation, 3D renderings, cranage and logistics.
  • Assist the in-house engineering team in drafting complex methodologies and sequencing, temporary works and undertaking structural detailing in 2D and 3D.
  • Assist the BESIX Watpac BIM Manager in developing REVIT templates, database, REVIT Family creation, as well as drawing management tools.
  • Assist in supporting colleagues in using Digital Engineering tools.
  • Work across all project phases from concept to completion.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance and project document control in all documentation produced for BESIX Watpac.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Extensive REVIT & AutoCAD experience, predominantly in building structures or engineering projects.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC and Engineering Drafting Standards.
  • Working knowledge of parametric design and Grasshopper as an advantage.
  • Qualifications in Structural Design will be viewed favourably.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and a methodical / technical approach is essential.
  • Ability to work autonomously and run numerous projects concurrently.
  • Strong team player a willingness to support others.
  • Ability to plan for and adapt to design changes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to meet set deadlines.
  • Attend site visits when required.
