Job Description

BESIX Watpac are looking for an experienced finishes foreman to join our growing NSW team to work on a commercial high rise project in the Sydney CBD. Duties of the role will include; 

  • Ensure compliance with the Company Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Policies and procedures
  • Organise on a daily and weekly time frame the sequencing of the on-site activities ensuring that the subcontractors have access to their work face for materials and equipment, including the co-ordination of materials, equipment, personnel, and materials handling plant.
  • Assist the site manager and report on a daily basis, site activities which could result in points of delay, safety problems, industrial unrest, and take whatever action is necessary to avert problems.
  • In consultation with the project manager, allocate necessary site staff and resources and confirm that all the resources for the project will be available when required.
  • Review the construction programme with the site manager, re-sequencing of the activities as necessary to achieve the programmed completion date.
  • Ensure that the company's policies and practices on safety, industrial relations and quality assurance are implemented and policed at the work face.
  • Ensure quality and compliance with standards and contract documents.

Qualifications

The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience

  • Degree/Diploma in building/construction, or other recognised tertiary or trade qualification in a construction related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high pressure environment.
  • Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills.
  • Proven high level of professionalism, maturity and candour in daily work ethic.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
