Job Description
- Responsible for the mechanical design of water/wastewater/waste treatment systems based on understanding and implementation of Client Requirements / Project Specifications
- Lead and coordinate the multi-disciplinary approach of the mechanical design, while managing the exchanges with other engineering bodies
- Lead and coordinate the work of the engineering team dedicated to bids or projects, while mentoring less experienced team members
- Provide creative solutions (Capex and Opex) to fit the needs of the clients and the projects
- Manage and deliver mechanical deliverables of a single or of multiple projects (bids and projects), throughout the lifecycle of the project(s) till start-up, operations, and maintenance
- Participate to / supervise the development of the engineering of bids and projects, including pricing/purchase aspects :
- Plant general layout – Hydraulic grade line (HGL) – Pipe sizing – Pipe layout
- Equipment / Instrumentation / Valves : schedule and data sheets
- General Arrangement drawings – Detailed drawings – Mechanical installation drawings – Piping isometrics - …
- Request for quotation for mechanical equipment – Communication with suppliers – Evaluation of the quotations toward the final selection
- Integration of vendor data into engineering documents
- Prepare meetings with other parties (client, consultant, stakeholders, partners…) to defend and justify the selected engineering options, and to drive engineering optimization
- Develop internal knowledge of existing and new technologies/equipment
- Contribute to feasibility studies of conceptual design
Qualifications
- Master degree or Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in municipal/industrial wastewater treatment projects, potable water and reuse water projects, including sludge treatment technologies
- Good knowledge of engineering practices in the water treatment and in the Oil & Gas industry
- Strong understanding of the calculations required for mechanical engineering activities, including pipe design and hydraulics
- Good communication skills, for internal and external coordination purpose
- High level of Revit knowledge including experience in BIM modeling/coordination
- Current use of Word, Excel, Powerpoint,…
- Robust written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely
- Middle East experience preferred
- You are autonomous, flexible, a team player and you like to take decisions and initiatives
- You have strong analytical skills while being creative
- You can prepare technical papers and conduct oral presentations
- You are result-oriented and customer-focused
